RWC Heroes

24 Oct

It’s over!
And the All Blacks are trumps. A great, albeit edge-of-the seat, final against France. Indeed a night to remember – not to mention the relief at final whistle blow. Score 8-7 to the ABs. Captain Richie McCaw deservedly made it to the rugby role of greats and coach Graham Henry came close to cracking a smile. The French players also put on a magnificent performance. with their skipper, Thierry Dusautoir, announced `man of the match.’ They will depart New Zealand with heads held high and, hopefully not too disappointed. The game against Australia the previous week was also a corker. The number of blood noses was amazing. Overall, the ABs thoroughly deserved to carry off the RWC cup and New Zealand, particularly Aucklanders, will be remembered as remarkable hosts. Life will grind on with a semblance of normality this week. But don’t forget to pop on down to Wynyard Quarter and get your ticket to ride the Dockline Tram. Enjoy the summer timetable and balmy evenings.
